ATMA will support its members who are in various academic medical centers, teaching hospitals, and community hospitals; in their careers, clinical practices and research. They foster teaching/mentoring of medical students and residents of Tamil origin

To bring together all American Tamil physicians and allied healthcare professionals
Provide a forum for ATMA members to enrich their cultural, social, and educational values
Help the members through Continuing Medical Education (CME) to maintain their high level of medical knowledge
Provide our expertise and altruistic help to the needy in the USA and abroad during peaceful and disaster times through its charitable foundation

ATMA successfully conducted the Biennial convention in August 2023, at Sunny Isles Beach, Miami, Florida.
The event was inaugurated by the former Vice-Chancellor of The Tamilnadu Dr.MGR Medical University, Dr.Sudha Seshayyan.
The event was well attended. This included 8 past presidents of ATMA.
The members had good educational CME lectures spread over a two day period in the mornings.
Convention Souvenir was released on Day 1
Official meetings took place in the afternoons.
Evenings were filled with high quality entertainment.
Daytime Non-CME/spousal programs included Yoga, Zumba and visit to the local Shiva-Vishnu temple.
The evening river cruise with dinner and show was enjoyed by the attendees.
The Gala evening included awards, Key-note speech by Dr.Sowmya Viswanathan, BayCare Chief physician executive and speech by Special guest Dr.Sudha Seshayyan.
The musical nite included super-singers and other professional artists, which kept the audience on the dance floor for the most part.
Finally, typical Tamilnadu food was provided during the entire program at the venue, which included a variety of delicious dishes.
Many new members attended this convention and had a chance to interact with the senior members.

Dear ATMA members
I thank everyone for giving me an opportunity to serve as the President of ATMA- American Tamil Medical Association. I am very honored and privileged to serve in this role.
As I take this great responsibility during the ongoing pandemic, I wish to work with everyone as a team to enhance the role of ATMA in providing medical needs to our community in Tamilnadu as well as locally.
In the last 15 years ATMA has been involved in many projects that have benefitted several thousands, including multiple projects during the COVID pandemic. We will continue to do so as needed.

In the coming months, we have some challenges that we have to face. However, I have the confidence that due the resilience, maturity, patience and selfless contributions made by our members, we should be able to overcome any challenge.
I encourage everyone to get actively involved in various committees and contribute whatever possible. Together, we can achieve anything.
